Clinic Story
Dr Micheal McAuliffe worked in specialist dental practices in Cork, Limerick and Kilkenny since graduating as a specialist oral surgeon in 2013. He wished to open the only clinic in Munster dedicated exclusively to oral surgery and having found a suitable premises in a convenient location, opened doors to Cork Oral Surgery in July 2019.

Our Mission
Our goal is to provide specialist care to all those in need of surgical dentistry in a calm and relaxing environment. Equipped with the latest in dental technology, we also provide full disabled access, with ample free parking, and in a location that is convenient and easily accessible.
We are very aware of the anxieties faced by some of those attending dental appointments. Hence we aim to provide an ambiance whereby you, the patient, are in control. We welcome questions and conversation on how we may provide a more relaxing experience for you. We also provide sedation in the clinic for those who need it.

Dr Micheal McAuliffe
Oral Surgeon
Micheal graduated with honours from Cork University Dental School and Hospital in 2005. He subsequently worked in Edinburgh for three years, spending one year in general practice and two years in a hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery unit.
While in Edinburgh he gained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He then returned home to Ireland where he spent another year in the Limerick oral and maxillofacial surgery unit before commencing his oral surgery training programme in Cork University Dental School and Hospital.
Micheal completed specialist training in 2013, receiving a Clinical Doctorate (with first class honours) from UCC and became a fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. Micheal then worked in specialist practice throughout Munster for six years before opening Cork Oral Surgery in 2019.

Dr Caroline McCarthy
Oral Surgeon
Caroline qualified with honours from Cork University Dental School and Hospital in 2009.
She spent two years working in private practice in Kent in the UK before working in SHO positions in hospitals in Cork and the UK, completing her membership exams from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh during this time.
In January 2013 she started her specialist registrar training in Cork Dental Hospital and qualified in April 2016 with a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Surgery) and an FFD from the RCSI. Caroline now divides her time between the dental hospital and specialist practice.

Katie O'Regan
Practice Manager (RDN)
Katie graduated as a dental nurse, with distinction, from Cork University Dental School and Hospital in 2014. Since then she has been working as a dental nurse in both general and specialist practice. Katie’s interest has always been oral surgery.

Gill Goggin
Dental Nurse and Receptionist
Gill qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 and is registered with the Irish Dental Council. She has gained over 20 years valuable experience working in both general and specialist dentistry.
